I always liked the statement, “Find something you enjoy doing, and you never have to work again.” Maybe that isn’t the way the statement goes, but it does point to an important ministry guideline.
JoAnn and I really did enjoy our ministry in Japan, and also equally are enjoying our present ministry with Reaching Japanese for Christ. Were there things that were unpleasant about the work in Japan. Of course! But the good things always out classed the bad things.
And on the occasion that the dark experiences overshadowed the good, we then would cling to teachings like Philippians 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord.”
Did we every have “to go to work?” Very rarely. Thank you Lord.
