Rules of Thumb for Japanese Ministry #8 Give the Lord the Credit.

Giving the Lord full credit and glory is so obvious that it should be number 1 Rule of Thumb for Japanese ministries!

It is good to plaster ourselves with reminder stick um notes, because we need to be continually reminded of this truth.

If our work is of God, we know that it starts by the prompting of God in our hearts and the energizing of God’s Spirit in us and those around us.

An outline that is helpful for me, one I use daily in my opening time of devotions, is to affirm and pray through these three points.  I am a sinner; I am a saint; I am a servant.

I am a sinner. So today I confess my sinfulness and need for forgiveness. This helps to ensure that God receives full credit!

I am a saint. This helps remind me to think pure thoughts and participate in ministry activities that are worthy of  my Father.

I am a servant. This leads me to schedule refinements and priority lists for the day.

These three help me to remember that the Lord deserves full credit from beginning to end!
